What Obama reads looks good to me.
There’s an email floating around with a picture of Obama holding a book he’s apparently digesting, “The Post-American World,” and the email claims it’s “a muslim’s view.” Snopes debunks that characterization of the book.
This email wasn’t as funny as the one asking me to game a PBS poll for Obama, as if anyone would take a PBS poll seriously.
Actually, it looks like a good book to me, and I’m not going to hold against the author the fact that he wrote for Newsweek, which has lately fallen off the objectivity train.
In fact, if I had any money left, I’d buy the book myself and maybe an extra copy for McCain if he hasn’t read it yet. Check out the back and forth between the author, Fareed Zakaria and Thomas Friedman at amazon. Now there are two guys I’d like to have a beer with.
There are plenty of legitimate reasons to wonder about what or what doesn’t go on between Obama’s ears. This for instance out yesterday, and this is the NBC version.

These forwarded emails are ridiculous on both sides.
I would’ve assumed it was a PR stunt way before I assume a book was about “a Muslim’s view.” If there’s one thing his campaign proves it’s how aware his is of that kind of thing.
(I’m not saying he’s not reading the book - I’m just saying that was an ignorant place to go… because it does look like a good book.)
