New tune — “Unconditional”

pitchcorrect.jpgHere’s the status of the latest tune I’ve been working on. It now has lyrics, though I haven’t done anything else to it musically. I kind of went about this one backasswards, laying on guitar bits before I had any lyrics. Consequently, the phrasing of the vocals had to be adjusted, but I’m not sure that’s a bad thing. Generally I play parts all the way through a song and cut them out if they fight each other or the vocals. Accordian or mandolin didn’t sound bad in parts in place of some of what’s there now. The drums will definitely change. Drives me crazy when the ride cymbal stops.

New tune: Peta Girl

This might be the first song to use the shamelessly fabricated word “nekkedidity.” It’s called Peta Girl, and so far the most common question from friends who’ve heard it is “What inspired this?”
