Hodgman cracks me up.

He’s who I would cast if I were looking for a grown-up spitball target. Thanks to Eric.

Pickens on the Daily Show.

Pickens is one of those guys who proves it’s possible to be cool and ancient. Having money doesn hurt either, I suppose, but having good ideas is even more helpful.

Who better than an entertainment editor to cover Obama?

I read this, and at first was mildly disturbed at the buzzkill of it all. Then I thought hundreds? Out of a voting population of 207 million eligible voters? Not bad.

Here’s a thought. Let’s have a Write Like Bollywood Day.

Here’s a sample:

The man tried his best. But the Bollywood hottied shies away from strangers that tries to grab her and perform lip locked smooch.

A good read.

From Debinze this nicely written piece by Chris Hedges. Much of it feels true, particularly the level of debate historically, but it leaves the impression a literate populace that chooses to read more would help us solve problems and make reality-based decisions. Given the complete collapse of journalism this election season, I disagree. Secondly, an educated populace is also susceptible to cultural and political advertising and to obfuscation, maybe not as susceptible, but enough to perpetuate the sad state of affairs he describes. Some walk into the echo chambers willingly, others don’t even recognize the echo chambers, but the result is the same.

I have my doubts about RU-Smarter’s advertising.

Come to think of it, I have my doubts about the business plan, but then again, I’ve never gone to the site. The screengrab here is typical of their online advertising, which I found in a report on the Jets win over the Patriots. They routinely claim to know the IQ of various celebrities and public figures and challenge the audience to find out if they can top the number.
